It's no surprise that Watch What Happens Live is the most socially interactive Late Night Talk show. WWHL continues to make their shows as fun as possible, and there's no better way to do so than getting fan and viewers as involved as possible. Callers, Tweets, Game Time, ShotSkis, Poll Questions oh my! All rolled up into a half hour show. On average 15 minutes spill onto the live AfterShow only available to view on Bravotv.com. Major revelations and good old fashion fun happens on the AfterShow.
Most fans know it nearly impossible to snag a pair of tickets to the clubhouse. That is unless you're a rich bitch. Charity auctions have sold sets of tickets for over $8,500.
You can try to tweet Andy & beg or try his assistant Daryn. With only 22 seats available in the audience. It's not an easy task to accomplish. With over 700 shows now under Andy's belt and averaging 1million weekly viewers. you would think he'd opt for a larger venue. No not Andy. He loves his little cozy set. His den like set is part of the attraction for viewers.
What about those tchotchkes?
Several Knick Knacks on the WWHL set have been there from day one, many have been added over the years. The ShotSki is Andy's prize possession. (We learned that from his Chief of Staff, Daryn Carps Web series #AskAndy. If you haven't seen them head over to Bravotv.com and watch them now. Andy answers fans questions about the shows & himself. Yes they do play some games.) Some tchotchkes are available for purchase on Shop by Bravo. Like the roller skate, truck, AC letters you can order your personal initials or a #WWHL Andy Cohen ShotSki. Others are priceless, irreplaceable tchotchkes. Such as Lindsay Lohan's Cigaret butt, Lady GaGa's PeeFume, and Tamra Judge's implants.
Lots of people think the stuffed doll is Nene Leaks, many would be surprised to know that it's actually a Flip Wilson and Geraldine talking doll and was a gift to Andy from his friend Graciela Meltzer. The Justin Beiber doll is in a DVF wrap dress. One of Andy's good friends Diane Von Furstenberg gave him a Barbie in a DVF Dress & it fit Justin. Andy's Childcraft encyclopedias from when he was growing up is on set. They came from his parents basement in St. Louis. There are also bizarre things like the painting of Ricki Lake and Divine in character from “Hairspray,” made by Ricki's son.
Mama Elsa #RHOM Gave Mexican Maracas to Andy on an After Show. They now have a home on the set.
An Andy Cohen action figure by Sucklord a contestant on the Bravo show “Work of Art: The Next Great Artist”. I personally was interested in that Gene Simmons looking cardboard cut out that stands directly behind Andy's shoulder every night. @WeLoveAndyC and I both thought it was Gene Simmons and asked Daryn (Andy's assistant to confirm. To our surprise it was the great Candy Crowley, and she's a bookmark!
Andy's love for Snoopy is no secret. The Joe Cool award was given to Andy by Charles M. Schulz's widow. Most people didn't know it was an award, they just thought it was another interesting tchotchke on set.
Finally I'll end with my favorite / Missing in action tchotchke.
Anyone who is a fan of WWHL knows that Andy hates Gwen the American Girl homeless doll. When Vanessa J Sebastian from #GameOfCrowns gave Andy a new American Girl Doll wearing Vanessa's infamous jumpsuit & a huge crown I thought Gwen was in trouble. The next night Vanessa's doll was sitting on the shelf right next to Gwen. I thought how sweet Gwen has a friend. The next night Gwen was missing from the set. While we love that new doll I worry Gwen is homeless again.
Plug Alert: Anyone who knows what happens to retired tchotchkes please tweet me. I'd like to give Gwen a good home.
What is your favorite tchotchke on WWHL?
